The Diploma of Economics & Finance is offered in association with Brunel University West London as an alternative pathway into Year 2 of the Brunel BSc (Hons) undergraduate degree. On successful completion of the Diploma programme you will gain entry into the second year of one of the following degrees:

Progression criteria Upon successful completion of the Diploma of Economics & Finance, all students are guaranteed a fee paying place in second year of the relevant undergraduate degree programme at Brunel University, provided they have passed:
- the eight (8) core modules (with a pass mark of 40% or above).
- the Study and Language Skills module (with a pass mark of 50% or above)
- seven (7) modules must be passed at first attempt and no module may be failed more than once. Students are also required to sit and achieve 65% on the Brunel University English language test.
Course Duration
For students whose English Language skills fall marginally below the requirements, we offer an English programme prior to the Diploma of Economics and Finance which starts in May of each year. Students complete one semester of English Language tuition before progressing to the academic content of the Diploma in September (their full programme is, therefore, three semesters (12 months) in duration).

Note: All students are required to undertake and pass a compulsory Study Skills & Learning module in the first semester of the Diploma programme.
Teaching Methods Instruction for all modules is classroom based. Four hours of class contact per week are allocated to each module.
Assessment Assessment for all modules is based on course work and/or a final two hour examination. The pass mark for the Diploma programme is 40%.
Sandwich Course After transfer to Brunel University West London, LIBT students are eligible to apply for the four-year thick sandwich degree programme where you will gain high quality professional experience in commercial, financial, or public sector organisations. The four year thick-sandwich course is a four year full-time degree course which includes a placement of approximately 44 weeks during the third year.
Course Structure The Diploma of Economics & Finance comprises six modules (two of these are double modules spread over two semesters). Students must complete and pass all six academic modules and the Study and Learning Skills module to be awarded the Diploma.

For students whose English Language meets the requirements, the Diploma programme is two semesters (8 months) in duration.
