How do I apply for on-campus accommodation? LIBT students wishing to live in the Brunel University Halls of Residence must first be offered a place to study at LIBT. Students must fill in the accommodation form and return this by fax or email to LIBT, together with a deposit of GBP200 (made out to Brunel University). On-campus accommodation cannot be booked for a student unless the GBP200 has been paid in advance. Students who do not pay the deposit will not be added to the accommodation allocations list and will not be allocated a room on-campus.
How do I make a preference for accommodation? The LIBT Admissions office will send you an accommodation form with your offer letter. You will need to indicate a preference of either an en-suite room or a standard room and may also indicate a preference for a particular hall (e.g. Saltash Hall) before returning the form with your deposit to LIBT. Please note that en-suite preferences cannot be guaranteed, however this data will assist the Brunel University Accommodation Office with the allocation procedure.
When will I find out my allocation? The Brunel University Accommodation office endeavors to have allocated most students by the second Wednesday in September. Please note that LIBT will send you your room allocation as soon as we receive it so please therefore be patient. Why didn't I get my preference for accommodation? Accommodation is allocated taking into account your preferred type of accommodation. However as some types of accommodation are oversubscribed, obtaining your preference cannot be guaranteed and an alternative may be offered. When are the accommodation fees due? For Undergraduate students the accommodation fees are paid in three termly instalments and four termly instalments for Postgraduates. The payment dates are yet to be confirmed. The payment amounts and dates can be found on your Tenancy Agreement. Does the £200 accommodation retainer deposit come off my accommodation fees? Yes - The £200 accommodation deposit for session 2006/07 is returned and allocated against your final installment of accommodation fees, subject to all University charges being cleared. What are my accommodation options in my 2nd /3rd /4th year? Returning students are generally expected to live off campus and the Housing Office is available to help and assist students with local housing. The Housing Office is situated opposite the Medical Centre and is available for drop in enquiries between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
