Jeremy C. Vong Taiwan Pre-Masters Information Systems
My experience at LIBT has been a pleasant one.
The school is full of friendly and lovely staff who helped me to become a student again after working for four years.
The courses were intensive but manageable. The IT module gave me a good introduction to how my life is going to be for the coming year. And the Study & Learning Skills module really provided plenty of valuable tips and techniques to take me through the upcoming challenges. I am glad that I survived the course and confident that I will be able to tackle the MSc course.

Ronit Budhathoki Nepal Diploma Information Systems
I first wanted to go directly into Brunel but I had to go through LIBT to get my place at Brunel. At first, I didn’t feel good about it as I didn’t know much about LIBT and its facilities.
But now I feel it couldn’t have been better as LIBT prepared me mentally and physically for the tough period of study ahead.
With computers, we can study anywhere but LIBT gives the extra force of a module called Learning & Communication Skills and I think it is a module which really boosts the confidence level of students. The teachers do their best to make you understand and help us at any time, formally or informally. Also talking about the fee structure – it’s much cheaper than Brunel and there are many scholarships. Overall, I really enjoyed the international company at LIBT and it also gave me a strong foundation.

Lin Zihua (Joan) China Diploma Business & Management
I come from China, from where a lot of students choose UK Universities as a place to receive their advanced education. Due to the differences between China’s and the UK’s education, most students have to take a language or foundation course before they enter UK universities, which usually takes a year or more. I used to worry about this time issue. But LIBT helped me to solve it. I took the Business & Management Diploma course at LIBT. Here I adapted to study life in the UK very quickly. Everyone working at LIBT is helpful.
When I was surrounded by various people from different countries, I really understood the meaning of multiculturalism.
Today, I have finished all the Diploma modules, which has allowed me to transfer to level 2 of Brunel University successfully. I have to thank LIBT. It has helped me to save time and gain a real feel for Brunel study life.

Muhammad Khan Pakistan Diploma of Business & Management (Accounting)
LIBT provided me a pathway to Brunel University, a recognised university, which was flexible and suited me well.
Studying the Diploma of Business & Management (Accounting) has been one of the best experiences of my life.
I had missed the September 2007 start date but through LIBT I was able to do a fast-track course and join my second year of undergraduate study with the September 2007 direct-entry students. Not only was I transferred to Brunel, but I also completed my Diploma. I am very pleased with the educational standards at LIBT which will help me to cope with my future studies.
I also got the chance of meeting people from different parts of the world in London, a city in which you find many people from different backgrounds. It is also a city that gives you exposure to a practical life. And, therefore, I can say that it is the best training ground for an undergraduate student.

Jie Zhao China Pre-Masters Business & Management
The 10-week LIBT Pre-Masters programme gave me a good opportunity to improve my English skills and understand aspects of business before the official Masters course started. Four academic modules provided insightful knowledge to satisfy the needs of students who are interested in Masters courses both in Information Systems and Business fields. The modules were interesting and useful. The tutors of every module are qualified and very kind in helping students to solve their problems both in their academic and personal lives.
LIBT also held many social activities for all Pre-Masters students, such as a barbecue welcome and farewell parties, sports competitions etc.
LIBT has very good facilities, such as computer labs and their own classroom for all students. I really enjoyed my Pre-Masters study life with LIBT and I want to say a great thanks to all the staff and tutors at LIBT for all their help and the good memories and experiences that they helped to give me.

Hina Mistry Australia Pre-Masters Business & Management
The journey LIBT took me on was one that was a lot of hard work. I was even pulling out my hair at one time. But every minute was worth it. As intensive as the programme was, it has helped me in a lot of ways. Our lecturers were very supportive. They pushed and prompted us and made sure we performed to the best of our ability. I have also learnt to work with different people of different nationalities, discovered more about their culture, managed my time appropriately, adjusted to the UK lifestyle, and thus have gotten myself in a firm position both socially and academically as I go to Brunel.
Right now I feel I have one-up on people who haven’t taken this course.
My whole experience will be very valuable for Masters, especially gaining knowledge of research and managing my time and study effectively. Even though this course was strenuous, all the hard work I put in paid off in the end.

Doga Kolcalar Turkey Pre-Masters Business & Management
When I heard that I had completed my programme successfully at LIBT, I felt really excited and happy. It is a very good result for me since my university degree did not reflect my learning capabilities completely. In this process, I feel indebted to my tutors at LIBT because I think of education as a process of ‘give and take’, and they did whatever they could to ‘give’ everything they had.
For those who are thinking of coming to Brunel University via LIBT, my prior suggestion is to try to ‘take’ whatever the tutors offer because the information they provide is essential for any Masters Degree student.
I hope that anyone that comes and studies at LIBT gets the same excitement and enthusiasm I got. I wish everybody to have a very successful and exciting learning experience at LIBT, and thank the LIBT staff for everything they did during my studies here.

Cuk Gunarso Indonesia Pre-Masters in Business & Management (Engineering Management)
This was the first time I had studied abroad. Taking the Pre-Masters programme at LIBT was a really wonderful experience. I took the programme because I wanted to continue my study at Brunel University.
I would recommend people to do the Pre-Masters programme at LIBT before continuing onto the Masters programme because all of the staff at LIBT were really helpful and very supportive to me.
Even more, the modules that I took also really helped me to prepare myself to face the Masters degree environment in the future.

Chai Ken Phua Malaysia BSc Computer Science
I am studying a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science after completing my Diploma of Information Systems and Computing at LIBT. I find it a privilege to study at Brunel as it is ranked in the top 10 for Computing in the UK. When I finish my degree, I dream of returning to my home country of Malaysia and opening a games development company.
The LIBT Diploma programme was perfect for me as the structure of the programme allowed me to jump to year 2 of the Bachelors degree immediately after completing the Diploma. Brunel is also considered to be within the top 30 Universities in the UK. The flexible start dates also made LIBT a very attractive option for me as in Malaysia we finish our secondary schooling in December.
London is a huge metropolitan city with all sorts of ethnic groups and its diversity makes it a very interesting place. Brunel’s close proximity to central London is ideal for me.

Francine White Jamaica BSc Business and management
When I first heard about LIBT, I thought it was a great way to progress to the Bachelors degree while getting a Diploma at the same time. Now that I have progressed to the University I can definitely say that LIBT prepared me for the more intensive lecture programmes at the University.
I have always liked London from my frequent visits as a child, so did not mind coming here to study. Even though it was hard leaving my family and friends in Jamaica, the British people have made me feel very welcome. My most rewarding experience has been meeting new people who have become some of my closest friends.
I am pursuing the Business and Management general degree. Getting a job after I have finished will be easy as they encourage getting work experience while you study. I am confident that the general route in Business and Management is a way of expanding my knowledge to everything involved in business practices, thereby helping me to realise my dream.

Mounir El-Assadi Palestine BSc Business and Management (Computing)
LIBT really helped to prepare me for study at Brunel University so I would definitely recommend this pathway to other international students. My favorite teacher was Lynley Ingerson who taught us Management Enquiry. She always made the classes fun and interactive, so we never had time to get bored. After class she was always happy to spend extra time with the students if we were having problems understanding anything we had learnt.
I am studying the Computing strand of the Business and Management degree. I think getting a Brunel University degree will help me to get a good job as it is one of the top 10 London universities and one of the top 30 in the whole of the UK.
Living and studying in London is great. The underground train and bus network is excellent and I find it is so easy for students to get around. I also love the sports facilities at Brunel University, particularly the brand new running track. The Muslim prayer room and the library are also very useful.

Victoria Vozikova Russia BSc Business and Management (Marketing)
I chose to study at LIBT because of the LIBT programme, good academic staff, great new facilities and the London location, which is perfect for study. In addition to that and most importantly, Brunel is one of the top ranked London universities and I am confident that this will help to create a good impression on employers when I finish.
Everything that happened to me at LIBT was a great experience. LIBT is such a close-knit community - I met wonderful people from Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and Dubai who became my best friends here. I am also living in the Brunel Halls of Residence, which I really enjoy. I live on one corridor with all of my friends so we are all like one big family.
I use a lot of the facilities at the University such as the sports centre, library and students union. I regularly go to the gym, attend yoga classes as well as dance classes. I also use the library when preparing my coursework and the students union for help with issues such as a student visa extension.

Son Tran Vietnam BSc Network Computing
I think LIBT is a smart choice for international students. LIBT offers students personalised attention thanks to the small class sizes. Most of my classes had no more than 20 students so I found I had more time to ask questions and didn’t get lost in the lectures. It’s a big advantage to be in a small group and for this reason I would recommend LIBT to my friends who are willing to study in the UK.
The most fantastic thing at Brunel University is the new library and the e-library. The new library is a very modern building. I love the library so much because it has everything and more than that, it is the whole e-journal gateway. It allows you to print out the entire e-journal in your room and access the whole library without having to leave your room!
Living in London is great. London is the most exciting city in the world. I have had to learn how to balance my time between going out to have fun and study, as there is so much to see and do.

Juniad Miandad Pakistan BSc Business and Management (Marketing)
I chose LIBT because I wanted to boost my English and study skills whilst doing the first year of a business degree. Although I had achieved an A grade in English at GSCE’s, English in the UK is totally different. The compulsory study skills module at LIBT really helped me to bridge that gap.
LIBT also appealed to me because Brunel University is recognised worldwide. When I finish my studies I want to go into sports Marketing and Advertising. My studies in Business and Management will widen my knowledge in this field and help me to get a good job.
I was pleasantly surprised by the relaxed and friendly attitude shown to international students when I arrived in the UK. The classes at LIBT are really friendly and supportive. I come from a very close-knit family so being able to come to a small, friendly school like LIBT was very important to me. At LIBT I never felt isolated – I felt like I had left one home and come to another one!

Witoon Thipayawanakan Thailand Pre-masters Business and Management + MSc Marketing
I choose to study the Pre-Masters programme at LIBT as it gave me entry to the MSc Marketing degree at Brunel University. The main attraction of studying at Brunel is the University’s close proximity to London and of course it is also has a good ranking amongst British Universities. Living in a metropolitan city like London has also helped me to improve my English a lot since I arrived.
The Pre-Masters was taught in block format, which allowed us to concentrate on one subject at a time. I also liked the style of teaching, particularly Professor John Aston from the Department of Business and Management. He made the content very easy to understand and explained difficult concepts to us very clearly.
I think a Brunel University degree will help me to get a good job in Marketing when I go back to Thailand. My main aim is to earn lots of money and to be successful in my own business. I believe that the LIBT Pre-Masters programme was the first stepping-stone to fulfilling my dream.

Charity Chikaura Zimbabwe Pre-masters Information Systems and Computing+ MSc in Modelling and Management of Risk
I really wanted to study at Brunel University as the School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics is ranked in the top 10 in the most recent Research Assessment Exercise. I did not meet the entry requirements for direct entry to Brunel so for me the LIBT pre-masters programme was a perfect match! The pre-masters programme introduced me to different concepts and material to what I had learned at home. It was a great platform for me and prepared me well for my MSc in Modelling and Management of Risk at the University.
When I complete my Masters I intend to go back to South Africa to work – armed with a UK degree in the fundamental subject of risk management I will literally be able to choose the job I want in the financial sector. I am also looking at options to work in the UK for a year before returning home. Brunel University offers careers guidance to international students wishing to get work experience and gain exposure to the UK market, which I have found particularly useful.
Brunel University is based in the perfect location as it isn’t in the heart of London but near enough to the centre and is easily accessible. I expected London to be extremely fast-paced but it really hasn’t been that bad!

Justice Odonkor Ghana BSc Computer Science I am studying the Diploma of Information Systems and Computing at LIBT. When l arrived on the Brunel campus from Ghana my original preconceptions about LIBT changed dramatically. I now perceive it as a ‘United Nations school’ because of its multinational students and staff body. LIBT acts as a bridge into Brunel University, which is ranked among the best 30 schools in the UK. Students have access to the University’s facilities. LIBT gives you an interactive study environment, friendly and supportive academic staff and innovative teaching facilities. Living and studying in London means you have the advantage of learning in a multicultural society and there are diverse employment opportunities during vacations. I’ve enjoyed using the excellent transport system. As a staunch Christian, the Christian union and other groups on campus have been very helpful to me. Makani Zulu Zambia Diploma in Business and Management “I rate LIBT as one of the best pathway colleges in the UK. I completed my certificate in Commerce in Australia at Curtin International College, and therefore I decided to transfer to the UK. Upon doing my research on which university I wanted to complete my Degree in Business management, I discovered that the quickest and cost-effective way of doing it was coming to LIBT for my diploma so that I would be able to get into second year of Brunel University. That is not the only advantage I have had at LIBT. I have also been able to engage in social activities such as sports, debates and workshops with the senior Brunel university students and this has encouraged me a lot in putting in achieving my goal and targets. I plan to return back to Zambia and share my unique and unforgettable experience at LIBT. More than that, I am guaranteed to be amongst the most highly-skilled citizens in my country through the knowledge I have acquired at LIBT. All this motivation and inspiration comes as a result of the innovation and organisation of the staff at LIBT and, therefore, I would like to extend my unconditional gratitude to you all. God bless”
