How do I pay my fees if I am a continuing student? Click here to download a step-by-step guide.
How do I pay my fees to LIBT? You will receive details of how to pay fees to LIBT in your offer letter that details the amount for the first semester that is due. LIBT can accept bank drafts, cheques, telegraphic transfer payments and debit or credit card payments if the cardholder is present. The bank account details of where to send a telegraphic transfer to are as follows: BANK NAME: HSBC Bank ADDRESS: PO Box 41, High Street, Uxbridge, Middlesex UB8 1BY, United Kingdom ACCOUNT NAME: London IBT Limited BRANCH SORT CODE: 40 45 08 ACCOUNT NUMBER: 61896032 IBAN No:GB81MIDL40450861896032 SWIFT CODE: MIDLGB2109L Please make sure that you include your student ID number on instructions to the bank so that we know the payment is for you when it comes through our account. We cannot accept cash payments for tuition fees, however as we bank with HSBC, you can go and deposit the cash into our account using the details given above and then bring us the deposit slip so that we can issue you with a receipt. If you will be paying by bank draft or cheque, please make sure that the cheque is payable to LIBT as many cheques get accidentally made out to Brunel University and we cannot accept them as we are a separate company from Brunel. You can however, get a cheque or draft issued to Brunel for the accommodation deposit. It is only the tuition fees that must be payable to LIBT. When are my fees due for my second semester? About half way through your first semester, notices will be put up on notice boards and enotes will be sent to you via the student portal from the Finance Officer letting you know when the deadline for paying the next semester’s fees is. You are usually given between 8 and 10 weeks notice so you have plenty of time to contact your parents and arrange for the transfer. The Finance Officer will also send you weekly reminders that the deadline is approaching. You must make sure that you do pay the fees by the deadline that the Finance Officer gives you otherwise you may be charged a late payment penalty and will not be able to enrol in your classes, so as soon as you receive notice, arrange for the funds to come in. Do not leave it until the last minute. How do I pay my accommodation fees? You initially pay the £200 deposit to LIBT before you arrive in the UK. LIBT pay this over to the Brunel accommodation office for you and this secures your room and the deposit remains on file with the accommodation office until you vacate your room. You will get your deposit back when you move out of your room providing you have left the room in the state that you found it. Upon arrival, you will receive a contract from the accommodation office, which states the payments that you will need to make throughout the semester for your room. Usually this is paid in 3 instalments. Once you are in the UK, all accommodation payments are made directly to the cash office at Brunel University and the accommodation office can answer any questions about your room or your account with them. LIBT cannot take your accommodation payments nor answer any questions about outstanding amounts you have on your accommodation account as Brunel administers all this. Should you wish to cancel your accommodation before arriving in the UK and receive your refund back, you must give at least 7 days notice prior to the tenancy agreement date. Notice can be given to the admissions manager of LIBT and they will notify the accommodation office immediately. If adequate notice is not given, the deposit is forfeited. How do I set up a bank account in the UK? You can go into any high street bank in the UK and ask to open up an account, but you do need to have proof of residency in the UK so if you have just arrived, you will not have this proof yet. Also, as a student you do receive certain discounts if you open up a student bank account and LIBT can help you in opening up a student account with HSBC. During your orientation week, you will be given the forms to open a bank account with HSBC as there is a branch on the Brunel Uxbridge campus and this makes banking with HSBC very easy for Brunel students. You will need to obtain a letter from the LIBT reception that verifies that you are a student and confirms your residency in the UK and therefore entitles you to be able to open a student bank account. Details of when these letters will be available will be given during orientation from the Student Support Officer. If you arrive early in the UK, you will not be able to get this letter until the Orientation week so you may want to use travellers cheques for the first few days before your account can be opened.
