Student life
Leaving home and travelling to study in a new country can be a rewarding yet sometimes stressful experience. Even though this may be something you have planned and prepared for, the extent of the change and the effect it has on you may take you by surprise. The staff here at LIBT recognise the importance of meeting our students' personal as well as academic needs, so to achieve this priority LIBT offers students a range of services and facilities.

  • LIBT Student Portal 

    This service is available exclusively to LIBT students.  Access to  the Student Portal is vital - it contains important information on your studies such as module outlines, your timetable at LIBT, course notes, exam timetable, social functions from anywhere in the world.  Currently enrolled students can logon by clicking here

    Health Services

    LIBT arranges for all students to be registered with the Brunel University medical Centre if staying on campus or is students are staying off campus LIBT can provide details of the closest and most convenient doctor to them.  Once registered students receive all National Health Services free of charge.  For more information on the Medical centre please go to http://www.brunel.ac.uk/life/welfare/med

    Library

    The main library is at Uxbridge, within the Bannerman Centre, which sits right at the heart of the campus.  The Library is open seven days a week during term-time. In addition to the physical library there is a growing virtual library of electronic journals and databases available through the internal library website. Brunel staff and students can also request material from other libraries and take advantage of reciprocal arrangements with libraries in the London region.

    Computer Labs

    Once you have enrolled at LIBT you will be entitled to a Computer Centre network account that will give you access to all of the University services.  Computer laboratories are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Students who privately own PCs may access the University network from their Halls of Residence provided the user ensures that their PC meets our mandatory minimum antivirus and security requirements.

    Eating and Drinking

    The Brunel campus offers a wide selection of places to eat and drink. The Foodhall provides to students and staff quality food on affordable prices. There are a number of bars, cafés and shops where you can find a variety of drinks and snacks.

    Sport and Fitness

    Brunel is one of the top London Universities and has recently invested over £14 million into upgrading and development of sports facilities.  Sports facilities include a state-of-the-art fitness suite & weight training room, solarium, therapy suite, climbing wall, squash courts, playing fields and athletics arena.  More details on indoor and outdoor facilities can be found at http://www.brunel.ac.uk/life/sport/facilities

    Banking

    The HSBC Bank has a branch on the Uxbridge Campus. A counter service and two automatic service points are available. Full banking facilities are provided by the Uxbridge branch. Opening hours are 09.30 to 15.30, Monday to Friday. LIBT assists students with opening a bank account at this branch.
